Introducing Issue 48 of The NZ Journal of Natural Medicine
With issue 48, The NZ Journal of Natural Medicine is now twelve years old.
In this issue, we examine healing breakthroughs that haven’t had the attention that they deserve.
One of these – red, near and far infrared light (available free from the sun or from engineered devices) has the power to “charge up” our mitochondria (the powerhouse of our cells) providing a valuable energy boost. These red light frequencies also hold promise in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Niacin (vitamin B3) an essential – and often underrated nutrient – also features in this issue. We report on a study that indicates that this vitamin may be helpful for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
Acute kidney injury is a risk of significant spike protein exposure, such as from a serious Covid infection – or a shot. We are therefore really pleased to be able to bring to you the good news about how vitamin B3 may be used to treat this condition. And it’s not just acute kidney injury that vitamin B3 can benefit – teamed up with inexpensive baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), this versatile vitamin may also benefit people who have chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Continuing with a focus on the urinary tract, this issue reports on using cranberry for urinary tract infections (UTIs) as well as using homoeopathics for UTI.
All this and much more in this issue.
Wishing you the best of health!
– Katherine Smith and Jonathan Eisen, Editors
