Dentist Dr Laurie Beck was the first health professional to address the recent public meeting about water fluoridation, discussing some of the health risks of adding hydrofluorosilic acid (a waste product of the phosphate fertiliser industry) to drinking water. The meeting was organised by Fluoride Action Network NZ (www.fannz.org.nz) and took place in Freeman’s Bay Community Centre in Auckland on June 29, 2013.
